FOGELBERG — Fogelberg’s streets will be crowded again with screaming fans celebrating a championship — This time for the biggest title of the all, The All-Star Baseball Classic Championship.

Mayor Mikey Rohr announced plans for a “rolling rally” at 11 a.m. Thursday to celebrate the Falcons win over the Jeetzton Beanbags in the championship. The parade will start at Macintosh Stadium and wind its way through downtown Fogelberg to Jackson Square. The parade will also be broadcast on local television and radio.

Sixteen World War II-era amphibious “duck boats” will carry the Falcons players, owners and staff. The team’s mascot (Timmy the Falcon), former Falcons greats and championship trophies from previous years will ride on two flatbed trucks.

City officials urged the hundreds of thousands of fans expected to attend the parade to use public transportation, with streets around the route closed to traffic beginning at 9:30 a.m.

“I’m happy for the Falcons and the city of Fogelberg,” Don Mattingly said Wednesday. “I know what it means to win a championship as a Falcon and the place championships hold in the history of the franchise. I’m also pleased for Paul Molitor and Don Zimmer, knowing where they were last year and then making the decisions to put them in position to win the title.”

The city has held five other championship parades.

Arrests Follow Championship Game

FOGELBERG — Prosecutors say 10 people have been arraigned on charges stemming from criminal acts during the Fogelberg Falcons’ championship celebrations.

Police arrested 22 people before and after the Falcons won their 6th title Sunday afternoon. Ten suspects were arraigned in Fogelberg Municipal Court on Wednesday, the vast majority for disorderly conduct and public nudity.

Several storefront windows were damaged near Macintosh Stadium after the Falcons’ 14-7 win over the Jeetzton Beanbags in the Championship game of the All-Star Baseball Classic.

Mayor Mikey Rohr called the alleged offenders “punks” and called for tough penalties. “I will have Ferd Miller beat their asses!”

Police increased patrols and used video surveillance at key areas around the city to control rowdiness. Previous Falcons championship celebrations have been marred by deaths among revelers.
