Auggie’s “First” Royals Game

Auggie’s “First” Royals Game

When Aug gave me tickets to a Royals game for my birthday, I had a pretty good idea of how the day would go: we’d show up, spend way too much on food and souvenirs, and be out of there by the third inning. All the signs of an early exit were there—HOT weather, the Royals losing most of the game, and a dad who (let’s be honest) actually wanted to watch the game.
But here’s the twist: Aug stuck it out. Not only did he last the entire game, he was engaged the whole way through—asking questions, following the plays, and even cheering along. And when the Royals pulled off a win, he insisted we stay late to catch the post-game celebration.
What I thought would be a quick in-and-out turned into one of those perfect baseball memories I’ll never forget.
