Scott McClellan worked as a loyal press spokesman for George W. Bush for eight years, ultimately becoming White House Press Secretary. He resigned from that position in 2006, in the wake of the controversy over the Valerie Plame leak scandal.

In his new book, “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception,” he offers a harshly critical portrait of the president and his administration. Going to war in Iraq was a mistake, he concludes. But an even more fundamental mistake was the administration’s decision “to turn away from candor and honesty when those qualities were most needed.”

One of my good friends from Plattform starts work here next week… It is going to be so awesome and weird to be working with him again… I am really excited about it. Work will get REALLY fun!

Wendy and I have been burning rubber all over the metro area… I have not driven this much in YEARS! The funny thing is that I have not had to fill up with gas yet! … I love that car.

Speaking of cars … Took the Jeep out for a spin yesterday. I love that car.

Kody and I cooked some steaks out on the grill yesterday… I think they were the best steaks I have ever cooked… Not as good as the ones my Mom makes, but pretty good for a big-dumb-curly-haired guy like me… New potatoes were good as well.

I have never seen the Cubs as the number one team in the MLB power ratings… I just had to post this so I could have proof that there was one moment when they did not completely suck in my lifetime.

Indiana Jones

Hmmmm… OK… Indiana Jones… You know, it wasn’t the worst movie I have ever seen. I am not going to come out and say that it was great either… I attempted to go in with NO expectations and realized that Lucas and Spielberg would add a shit ton of really distracting special effects that do not fit with any of the previous films… I came to terms with that fact and of course that is EXACTLY what they did in several instances, but In other moments, camera shots and dialogue I felt very pleased and happy. I actually found myself smiling and laughing out loud at several moments… Honestly though, I didn’t really “get” all of the plot points and thought the whole thing was much to complicated for an Indiana Jones film.

Good things about the film:
- Camera shots and colors felt right
- Costumes
- Humor
- LOTS of Indiana Jones “run (or drive) like hell” moments

… I am sitting here and can not really think of any other good things to say about the movie. Maybe I thought it sucked but I am too attached to admit it? … Hmmmm…. I don’t think that’s it… What I think I liked the most about it was that it was Indi-fucking-ana JONES.

One piece of advise: If you go see the film do not expect it to be as good as “Raiders” or “Crusade” because if you do you are going to HATE it… This rings especially true for all of you people out there that hated the new Star Wars movies. I am going to write a long post bagging on you people someday!

I know that if you are reading this you probably grew up in the midwest and it feels nice to vote Republican… I UNDERSTAND. I really do! Just do me a favor, read over ALL (Yes ALL) the issues from MULTIPLE (more than one) sources and just give him a chance.

I am sure that you will see a story on CNN announcing that I have officially endorsed Barrack Obama later today… NO, I am NOT a superdelegate, but I AM super-awesome and have quite a bit of pull in Washington.

Meet Wendy!!!

I picked up my new car last night!!! Good lord it is AMAZING! I forgot how much fun it is to drive and not worry about breaking down at every stop light! The stereo is AMAZING! The sunroof is AMAZING! The acceleration in AMAZING! The fuel economy is AMAZING!

I have decided to name her Wendy (NOT after the restaurant)… My new catch phrase for KC residents will be “Wendy and I will be over in a minute!!!”

Look how pretty she is.
