A Run – Run – Run

by Joe

I decided to run outside today because the weather was absolutely georgeous… Down by the plaza there were people EVERYWHERE. It was amazing to see old people, young people, ritch people, poor people, homeless people, people with dogs, people on bikes, people wearing almost nothing, people playing in the fountain, people playing frisbee… and most of all, people smiling. Smiling because it would be impossible to not smile on a day as beautiful as this one.

Happy Birthday Alison! There is something about you that rocks my socks off!

This is a really funny article from the Onion

I know that posting lyrics on the blog is not such a popular thing to do, but from time to time I like to go through my previous posts and see what I was “into” on that day.

Today these lyrics from the amazing Regina Spector have been in my head.

“… this is how it works
you’re young until you’re not
you love until you don’t
you try until you can’t
you laugh until you cry
you cry until you laugh
and everyone must breathe
until their dying breath

this is how it works
you peer inside yourself
you take the things you like
and try to love the things you took
and then you take that love you made
and stick it into some–
someone else’s heart
pumping someone else’s blood … ”

If you could buy ANYTHING for $10 what would it be?

——————————-

This is the “would you rather” that I have been asking lately.

Would you rather have there be no God, or there IS a God, but he cares about EVERYTHING except for you?

Places that I would like to visit:
Boston
Rome
Grand Canyon
The Pyrimids
Tibet
An island with my best friend

——————————-

I think that green is my new favorite color.

——————————-

I am really good at cooking on the grill.

——————————-

My brother got tickets to the Royals game tomorrow night. He is really developing into a nice young man.

Quincy

by Joe

I found this while going through some papaers today… When my family moved in the middle of my 7th grade year, this is the house we left behind.

I thought it was interesting to look at.

Just talked to my Mom and she informed me that this was my Grandfathers birthday… Happy Birthday Pepe. We miss you.

——————————–

Happy first communion to Chally… I hope you had a great day!

Mac SE

by Joe

This is a Macintosh SE. They had these in the journalism class I took in high school. This computer taught me that I could love a computer.

I wish that I had one… Hmmmm… Extremely early birthday gift to myself.

The Great SAUL BASS

“Anatomy of a Murder”
Title sequence by Saul Bass

“Vertigo”
Title sequence by Saul Bass

The amazing Saul Bass is one of the most influential graphic designers that has ever walked the earth. He pioneered the art of the title sequence in the 1950’s and created mind-blowingly awesome logo’s… If I can achieve one quarter of his artistic genius I will die happy.

Think some good thoughts for my friend Ron Santo. I have missed him the last few days.
