Quarter For Your Thoughts

by Joe

passport

In my opinion, Vermont is the prettiest and best state quarter. Every time I get one, I save it… I probably have 5-10 bucks in Vermont quarters stashed away in various locations in my room. I just can’t bring myself to spend something to nice.

Look at the wonderful little scarf around the person’s neck. It is so quaint. I WANT TO BE THAT PERSON. I want to be out in the snow covered hills of Vermont were all I can hear is silence.

Honorable mention:
Kansas
New Hampshire

Only one more Friday after this one at 304.

Oh Loverboy…
“Everybody’s working for the weekend
Everybody wants a little romance
Everybody’s goin’ off the deep end
Everybody needs a second chance, oh
You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go”

Passport

I registered for my passport this morning… I am so freaking excited that I might dump myself. It is strange; all the things that 78 and I have been looking forward to for so long are all starting to actually happen (through a lot of our… Mainly her… hard work). It is really tough to not live every waking second in the possibilities for the future, when we have so much to still do in South Florida.

Trophy

by Joe

Leaf

Well, the ball has finally dropped at work. I have given my notice… It seems that they are not going to fire me, although I am sure that if they could they would.

A HUGE weight has been lifted from my shoulders with this breaking news in my life. The entire exchange has been relatively painless, so I guess that all of the stress that I have put upon myself has really paid off… It has felt like I have been living a lie and being dishonest with them (both are true I guess). This has broken my heart everyday for the time that I have know that we are leaving.

On the bright side, I feel invigorated that the monotony of life in Florida is almost over… I had the thought that I will frame a single fallen fall leaf upon my return to the Midwest. This will be the trophy that I reward myself for enduring the hell of two years of eternal summer.

In the theme of posting song lyrics from my morning run:

“Maybe you get what you wanted
Maybe you stumbled upon it
Everything you ever wanted
In a permanent state”

Lyrics

by Joe

Tears for Fears Lyrics:

Wake up your time is nearly over
No more the supernova
And no action guaranteed

Wake up you’ve had an operation
Ideals above your station
Too much reality

Think about the waste of time spending
Watching Mother Nature’s knees bending
Everybody loves a happy ending

Wake up you’re on your own agenda
Give up the great pretender
With baby eyes of green

Wake up you’re holding on to nothing
You know you’re only bluffing
As dead as autumn leaves

Think about the waste of time spending
Watching Mother Nature’s knees bending
Everybody loves a happy ending

Don’t you just love a happy ending?
Oh yeah well so do I
And all your love will shine on everyone

The darkness of the day
A curse in every way
You try to see the light
But you don’t know why
Don’t know why

They tell you on the phone
To give your God a bone
And grow a set of wings like a butterfly

The guarding at the gate
Reminds you that you’re late
You try to take your time
But you toe the line
Toe the line

The children of the world
And daddy’s little girl
The grass is always green on the other side
So stay and breathe new lies

Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
