Thursday (YESTERDAY)

Thursday (YESTERDAY)

I don’t know what was more disgusting to me yesterday… The fact that Palin did not answer a single fucking question during the debate (she did talk a lot though), or the Cubs playing like COMPLETE ASS (AGAIN)!!!

Thanks GOD for Jamie’s slider’s (mini hamburgers), BBQ Thursday and Joe-Joe Biden!

Who thinks I should get a facebook?

New music

Beck: Modern Guilt – Solid album from beginning to end. Nice beats and good background from creative work
Ben Folds: Way To Normal – I have been listening to this a shit ton the last few days. Several of the songs and GREAT, vintage style Ben Folds (“You Don’t Know Me”, “Cologne”), BUT several of the songs are un-listenable (“Hiroshima”, “Errant Dog”).
Amy MacDonald: This Is The Life – Think Missy Higgins. First 5 songs on the album are strong and then it gets a bit tired, but is entirely listenable.
ColdPlay: Viva La Vida – I thought this might be great, but it instead is only pretty good. Several good and memorable songs, but I wish that I could cut the middle out of this album and get only the beginning and the end.
Death Cab for Cutie: Narrow Stairs – BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR SO FAR. I Love where this band is going creatively. Strong lyrics, great sound, fun, reflective. GREAT!
Gnarls Barkley: The Off Couple – Not really a style of music that I listen to all that often, but I have really enjoyed listening to this one. I grab it in the afternoon around 3:00.
Jason Mraz: We Sing, We Dance – I really dig this guy. Great use of horns, great voice… He is not afraid to keep it simple when necessary.
Neutral Milk Hotel: In The Aeroplane – Modern sounds from a band that has been around for a while.
Kings of Leon: Only By The Night – I have only listened to this one a couple of times since I got it a few days ago… Pretty good rock tunes.
The Old 97’s: Blame it on Gravity – This band will not knock your socks off at first listen, but has a Costanza effect afterward… Keep going back.
Vampire Weekend: Vampire Weekend – AMAZING, FUN, GREAT… I wish that i could think of more good things to say about the most addictive album EVER.
Jacob Jeffries Band – I have been listening to the demo that Ryan gave me and can not get enough of this… “Farfax Diner”, “Old Friend”, “Mr. Weatherbee Freeman” are a few of my favorites… Go and download his stuff from iTunes.

Creepy Steve post coming next week… That should be fun.

I have over-grown my record shelves (again) so I am pimping out one of my old shelves to house them… Should be pretty BOSS.

I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is.
