Salina (The Beginning)

Salina (The Beginning)

Returned to Salina for the first time since Christmas today. The older I get the more amazing I feel this place is. For some reason the fact that it is so unchanged since my childhood is unbelievably charming to me.

Carrie and I had lunch with my Dad this afternoon. He is a remarkable man. I feel that I am finally mature enough to let my opinion of him change and grow… I am so proud of the way that he has allowed himself to enjoy being sensitive and embracing the love that is present in his life. I don’t think that a lot of people learn to simply allow love to be simple. I am watching him to learn more of this.

I should really express to the world how incredible my family is more often (including the beautiful people that I inherited when I got married).

Salina:
The colors are so vibrant, the sun is the right kind of warm and the smells are relaxing. I feel safe, confident… and happy.

I arrived in KC at my brothers house to find the picture of me below printed out and placed towards the bottom of their refrigerator. Apparently, my niece Chloe wanted to see a picture of uncle Joe. This was the solution.

This is one of the cutest this that has happened to me in a long time and just one of the reasons it feels great to be home.

Hurry up Jamie and Ry. We miss you.

Chloe truly loves her Uncle Joey and cried when we got home only to learn that she couldn’t see you for a few more days. It will be devastating when you move out…but at least you will be a lot closer than Florida. (nice job on the inherited family bit!)
