First Day

First Day

So do you really get to know anything about your new job the first day. The answer is a resounding no… About the only new thing I learned about my future is that it will be partially spent in a really kick ass free gym on the lower level of the building I work in… So enjoy the remnants of non-chiseled Joe while you can, because I am going for Mr. Universe next year (but I won’t wear a speedo).

So when I get there they go over the benefits, the intranet, time off and the company directory… This is all good and fine… When I finally get to my desk they give me this personality test to take. It is called the Keirsey personality test (is this something that I should have heard of). Anyway, I was a bit annoyed at first, but upon completing it I was intrigued when I received a strange combination of letters that represented my score… So I could not help but look up what the hell they meant during lunch.

Profile:
“Beneath the quiet exterior, INFJs hold deep convictions about the weightier matters of life. Those who are activists — INFJs gravitate toward such a role — are there for the cause, not for personal glory or political power.
INFJs are champions of the oppressed and downtrodden. They often are found in the wake of an emergency, rescuing those who are in acute distress. INFJs may fantasize about getting revenge on those who victimize the defenseless. The concept of ‘poetic justice’ is appealing to the INFJ.

“There’s something rotten in Denmark.” Accurately suspicious about others’ motives, INFJs are not easily led. These are the people that you can rarely fool any of the time. Though affable and sympathetic to most, INFJs are selective about their friends. Such a friendship is a symbiotic bond that transcends mere words.

INFJs have a knack for fluency in language and facility in communication. In addition, nonverbal sensitivity enables the INFJ to know and be known by others intimately.

Writing, counseling, public service and even politics are areas where INFJs frequently find their niche.”

Click here to download and take the test. Open it in excel and place a “1” in the purple blank of your answer and it will tally the rest for you… Then go here to see your profile.

It is interesting to to read the profiles and there is a lot more information than what I posted above (click here to read my entire profile).

i have to tell you your kiersey test is, i think, a variation on myers briggs. what a good first day: a gym and a slightly bizarre possibly too revealing personality test plus benefits? go gainful employment. hope we get to hang soon so you and carrie can meet my main man.–s

I am either a E or I NTJ. Seriously, I tied on the introverted/extroverted part. Weird, eh? We talked about something like this in one of my business courses.
