Crappy Song

Crappy Song

GI Joe

So the last time that I was left alone, I decided to attempt to write a song in garageband about all of the things that I have been obsessed with in my life. It is one of the fun games I play with my mind, tying to brainstorm all of the different moments of my life, looking for one characteristic or the other… For some reason, whenever Carrie leaves for any amount of time, my mind starts to adapt by playing these games. I become a very inward thinking person. I start to do things that are a little out of character. Like writing a cheesy song in garageband…

Anyway, here is a short list of some of the things that I labeled “obsessed”. It is pretty funny.

GI Joe
Baseball Cards (Carlton Fisk, Don Mattingly)
Super Mario Brothers 2
All-Star Baseball
Burning DVD’s
Madden Football
Tiger Woods Golf
Religion
Toyota Pickup
Pez Dispensers
MP3’s
GarageBand
T-Shirts
Stereo Equipment
Chicago Cubs
Welsh Corgi Dogs
Pilot G2 Pens
Lovewell
Star Wars
Books On CD
Dig Dug
Photoshop
James Taylor
Jacks Hamburger Palace
Elevated Trains
E-Mail
Apple Computers
Gatorade
Which leads me to my current obsession (I say obsession because it sounds cooler than hobby), Harry Potter.

Believe me, that was the short list.

The song was a spoken word song starring my voice, with a melodic piano dancing in the background. When put that way, it sounds a lot better than it really is (if that sounds good to you)… Truthfully, it is unlistenable, even by myself (and yes, I do think that some of the songs I have done are good).

I enjoy having the time to reflect back on my relatively short life and finally process what I have done and were I am going. If a crappy song helps me to see that… Maybe it is not as crappy as I thought.
