Amedeo Modigliani

A few weeks ago I picked up a book about Amedeo Modigliani. I love the composition of his work and the way that his portraits convey the inner complexity of his subjects… I find myself jumping straight to his later works where he almost exclusively painted portraits of his wife, Jeanne. The book states that he painted at least twenty-five portraits of her in his life.

Here is an interesting fact about his story:
He died on January 24, 1920… Jeanne committed suicide two days later.
